Empty Bowls Wrap-Up Empty Bowls donation

Amesville Elementary 5th Grade students recently presented Mrs. Catherine Hare, representative from the Athens County Food Pantry, with a check for $1000.  Thank you to everyone who supported the event through their attendance, sharing some soup, and local pottery donations for the silent auction.  We look forward to next year's event!

Valentine Barn Dance Valentine Barn Dance

A great time was had by all who attended the Valentine Barn Dance!  Thank you to everyone!  Folks donated canned goods, supported the cake walk through donations or goodies, and over $200 was raised for our BackPack Initiative food program.  The Wireless Ramblers delighted everyone with their music and lots of smiles were shared!

Inspired-- To the movies-

Recently 5th and 6th grade students viewed "Hidden Figures" at Athena Grand and were inspired by this true story of women who worked for NASA.  Perseverance was one of many positive messages from this film--if you haven't seen it, our students highly recommend it!

Creative Students! Art on Display

Congratulations to Amesville Elementary students whose art work is on display at The Market on State in Athens and the Majestic Theatre in Nelsonville!  Thank you to Ms. Pearce for sharing these creative pieces with our school community!

Winter Concert and Art Show Winter Concert
Our Winter Concerts and Art Show were enjoyed by everyone!  Students' art work was displayed for all to enjoy and the two evening performances were outstanding.  Our 6th graders amazed us with their glow-in-the-dark dance.  Other highlights included holiday music performed on boomwhackers, a scarf dance by our Kindergarteners, a special version of the Twelve Days of Christmas by our 4th graders, our 5th and 6th grade band, and many others!  Special thanks to Mr. Waskiewicz, Ms. Pearce, Mrs. Lawrence, and Ms. Gallaher for your dedication to our students!

Honoring our Veterans Thank you, Veterans!

Amesville Elementary students and staff celebrated our veterans in a wonderful assembly with readings, music, lots of flags, and smiles.  Thank you, Veterans, for your service to our country!

Empty Bowls--a success! Empty Bowls

Students enjoyed sharing their ceramic artwork with families and friends...what a great turn out for this local event! Thanks to everyone for attending and to Ms. Pearce and Ms. Jamie for organizing this important fundraiser.

We are still awaiting the final amount raised for the Athens County Food Pantry--stay tuned!

Fire Safety Thank you, Firefighters!

Thank you to the Amesville Ames-Bern Volunteer Firefighters for inviting our students to the fire station to learn all about fire safety.   Students explored fire trucks, equipment, and even sprayed the water hose!  We learned that every family needs a meeting spot and to always have two ways out of your home.  A fun and informative visit!

Farm Day 2016 Farm Day 2016

Farm Day 2016 at the Hays Farm outside of Amesville was a blast!  Students roasted marshmallows, made butter, went fishing, saw lots of animals, popped popcorn, and enjoyed a beautiful fall day at the farm.  Thanks to Steve and Barb Hays for welcoming us back for another year!
