Family Science Night and Art Show

Families enjoyed a evening of science experiments and beautiful art work at our Family Science Night and Art Show. Students saw dinosaur bones, learned all about soils and composting, proudly pointed out their art work to family members, fed Venus fly trap plants, set off water rockets, planted seeds, and much much more.  Thanks to Ms. Gallaher and Ms. Pearce for putting together such a great evening and to all our presenters--a hats off to you too!

5th Grade Castles

Students in Ms. Kasler's and Mrs. McCune's 5th Grade classes worked on castle projects.  Students had to write a "how-to" paper describing how to build their castle, including all materials and tools needed, and they had to include measurements.  Castles were on display for several days and many students stopped by to see them.  Great job, 5th graders!

Teresa Caldwell from Athens Soil and Water Conservation District visited Amesville 5th Grade classes to give a presentation about why we all need trees!

Empty Bowls Raises Money for Athens County Food Pantry

During our January All-School Meeting, students presented Mr. Frank Hare, representative from the Athens County Food Pantry, with a donation of $1,000.  This money was raised during our second annual Empty Bowls event where students in K-6th Grade created pottery bowls and teacups to sell.  Thank you to our art teacher, Ms. Pearce, and our guidance counselor, Ms. Jamie, for all their work in helping students to create these works of art and for organizing this event.  We are very proud of our students for their service to others in our community and around the world!
