Weekly Update for HS/MS - Nov. 3, 2020

Federal Hocking HS/MS

Weekly Update

Monday November 2, 2020

Parent-Teacher Conferences:

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 3:30 - 7:00 PM and Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 3:30 - 6:30 PM.  A form will go home with your child this week or you can call Julie at 662 - 2167 to set one up.

  • G2 Midterms will be sent home with students that are in-house this week.  For students that are virtual, please check The Parent Portal in order to see the midterm grades or call the office at 740-662-6691 if you would like one mailed home.  Remember, midterm grades are not used for athletic eligibility nor are they the final grade for a term.  They are a measure at the halfway point of a grading period and there is time for students to improve their grades.  The end of the G2 6 Week Grading Period is Friday Nov. 20.

IMPORTANT FOR SENIORS!! - Scholarship Opportunities:

  • Mrs. Buchman has begun posting scholarship opportunities for seniors on the Class of 2021 Google classroom site.  If interested, please read each posting carefully, paying particular attention to the requirements and the due dates.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Buchman at 740-662-6691.  Here is a link to that site: https://classroom.google.com/u/0/c/Mjg1MzA5NTMxMVpa

  • From Mrs. Buchman:

Hi Seniors, I will be contacting you via email or phone to set-up appointments to go over your transcript, and discuss plans after high school. I will be pulling some of you from advisory in the next few weeks.

Please reach out to me if you need anything.

In the meantime some important reminders:

  1. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is open. This is necessary to help you pay for college.

  2. College Deadlines are fast approaching. Priority scholarships are generally given to those that apply before November 15th.

  3. Scholarships are posted daily to the Class of 2021 Google Classroom.

  4. You need letters of recommendation for your portfolio, college application or employment application. Please reach out to 2 teachers to ask if they would be willing to write you a letter. I have a BRAG sheet that you can fill out to assist the teachers in writing a letter for you.

Again, please contact me if you have any questions!
