Please read carefully this message about Amesville Elementary School:
I was notified today that students in multiple grade levels at Amesville Elementary School have been exposed to and identified as close contacts to two students who have tested positive for COVID-19 during the past week and one who is likely to be positive.
Those students and staff who are close contacts and need to quarantine will be contacted as soon as possible by Ms. Spero and Ms. Witschey.
After consulting with the Athens City-County Health Department and due to the number of students involved Amesville Elementary School will be closed through Friday, September 17. Staff will report as normal during this time. Students will return for in person learning on Monday, September 20. Federal Hocking Secondary School and Coolville Elementary School will remain open at this time.
Because of the length of this closure we will have to use remote learning during this time. On Tuesday, September 7 Ms. Spero will share information about how students will receive work and engage with teachers during the closure.
We need everyone’s help to avoid additional school closures. Upon return it is very important that students and staff who are feeling ill do not come to school.
Thank you for your cooperation.
