Federal Hocking Students Consulted on State Proposal

FH Interns with State Officials

Federal Hocking Seniors Trey Mayle, Gracie Beha, and Ashley Biles met with Ohio Chancellor of Higher Education John Carey and Director of the Governor's Office of Workforce Transformation Ryan Burgess to discuss the Governor's budget proposals promoting internships.  The meeting was held at Airclaws Heating and Cooling in Amesville, where Mayle is carrying out his internship.  Biles previously interned at Camden Clark Hospital and Beha is interning at Simmons and Simmons Insurance.

The three FH students shared how their placement is helping them make career decisions and develop skill such as team work, communications, and time management.  Additionally, Beha added "we also make a difference in our community, and that is the best part."

All FH students are eligible to take an internship and they receive regular high school credit for the placement.  To find out more about the internship program or to become a community sponsor, please contact Principal Cliff Bonner at cbonner@fhlancers.com.
