Dear Federal Hocking Students, Parents, and Staff,
I want to share some updates and reminders about weather related school notifications. There are a number of ways the district communicates about closings and delays:
Infinite Campus Call – When a decision has been made to delay or close school you should receive a call, text message, and email from Infinite Campus. This all relies on updated contact information as well as your preferences for the contact. For example, some people choose to just receive text messages and not phone calls. The system uses "call chaining" in an attempt to make sure you received the message. Call chaining attempts to call every phone number listed in your record until you press "0" at the end of the message to stop the call chain. If you never pressed "0" to confirm receipt, the system will start through your numbers again - but should leave a message this time. There may be a pause after the intro before the message starts. On some phones this is the system trying to decide if anyone is actually there or working through an unexpected return signal from the phone company's equipment. If you say "Hello" (or anything else) a couple of times the actual message will start. Don't forget to press "0" after you listen.
In addition to Infinite Campus notifications the message will be posted on the Federal Hocking Local Schools Facebook page, the district website www.fedhock.com, and on Twitter @DfHanning.
FOR NON-EMPLOYEES and NON-GUARDIANS who DO NOT have Infinite Campus accounts:
The E-communication tool is now available on the district website – www.fedhock.com.
There is a link from the Home Page under the Quick Links. E-Communication is the last link on the list. E-Communication only sends text messages and emails, not phone calls. Here is the link:
