Greetings Students and Families, 

As your principal I am excited to welcome you to the new school year at Federal Hocking Middle School. We have missed you this summer and cannot wait to see you back in the building on August 26th. The building looks great! We have signage throughout the middle school to display the hard work of our Social and Emotional Learning team. 

 Federal Hocking Middle School provides numerous opportunities for our students. You will have full access to up-to-date technology, individualized learning opportunities, many different sports teams, multiple elective courses each year, a comprehensive Social and Emotional Learning curriculum, and so much more! We are committed to the goal of increasing opportunities available to every student at our middle school. To reach this goal, we have scheduled exciting field trips, several school dances, quarterly recognition assemblies, and community events, both during and after school. We want our families and the community at large to feel welcomed, celebrated, and supported! 

The faculty and staff at FHMS is dedicated to creating a school culture that supports students as they experience exciting new challenges to get the most out of their academic and extracurricular experiences. Transitioning to middle school can be a challenging time for students and their families. We will do all we can to make a smooth transition. We believe that every student can be successful. We will work with families, communicating often, to ensure our students can realize their full potential. 

Experience and research tells us that students perform better in school when they maintain regular attendance and are actively involved in their school community. We strongly encourage our students to join one of the clubs, sports, or activities offered at Federal Hocking. We invite our families to closely follow us on social media (FH Local Schools), our website (www.fedhock.com), and the Parent Portal through Infinite Campus.
