Hello Lancer Students and Families,
I am excited to introduce myself as the next principal of Federal Hocking Middle School. As the assistant principal and athletic director, I have spent the last 5+ years working with the students, staff, and families of Federal Hocking Middle and High School. My wife, Toni, is a 10th grade English teacher at FHHS. Our two daughters, Kenley and Andi, will be attending preschool at Coolville Elementary - one starting this coming Fall, and the other beginning in the 2024-2025 school year. I speak for myself, my family, and the entire staff at Federal Hocking Middle School when I say we are eager and enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with your children.
The upcoming 2022-2023 school year will look different, as the current 5th and 6th grade students will both transition from Coolville and Amesville Elementary to Federal Hocking Middle School. I want to communicate several steps we have planned to ensure a smooth transition for students, families, and faculty members. I will be visiting with both elementary schools’ 5th and 6th grade students within the first two weeks of January to introduce myself, answer questions, and communicate a calendar of events. My goal is to personally speak with all transitioning students every month until the end of the school year. There will also be at least one day in which all transitioning students will visit the middle school during the school day to familiarize themselves with the building, the teachers, and programming options.
As parents/guardians, you are invited to join me in our newly renovated High School Theater for one of two scheduled informational sessions. These sessions will take place on January 20, 2022 and February 17, 2022. Both sessions will begin at 6:30p.m. One of our main goals is to be communicative and transparent during this transition process and we welcome and encourage feedback from our students and their families.
