Sophomores at Federal Hocking High School recently finished reading “Night,” written by Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel. To demonstrate their comprehension of the text and their analysis of the different literary devices in the memoir, students are participating in a 10-day writer’s workshop. During this writer’s workshop, students will complete the 5 steps of the writing process, create strong and concise thesis statements, utilize relevant and detailed textual evidence cited in MLA format, and develop strong academic body paragraphs using formal academic language. Pictured below are students attentively using their novels to find textual evidence supporting their thesis statements.

Coolville Elementary third-grade students worked hard to complete a biography book report on important people from history. They each read a biography, answered questions, and illustrated a picture to accompany their report. Then, students stood in front of the class to present what they learned. We are so proud of your hard work. Keep it up!
