Just a reminder that the Halloween Parade and Parties will begin at 2:30 tomorrow at Coolville Elementary. All costumes must be school appropriate and no fake weapons will be allowed. At the end of the parade all parents will need to sign in with a staff member before entering the building. Thank you for your support, we look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Amesville 5th graders recently wrapped up a Hiking Unit in PE with a family hike to Elephant Rock, just outside of town. Students used the skills they learned in class to prepare for the hike and to help navigate the route there and back!
Reminder Amesville Families,: tomorrow, October 31st, is our Halloween parade and parties. All costumes must be school appropriate.
I also ask that after the parade all parents wait on the playground and sign in prior to entering the building for parties.
Please join FH Senior Darius Pierce and learn to paint! Supplies will be provided for all participants!
The Federal Hocking Journalism class had the privilege to explore Athens County's newest nature preserve, which happens to be right in our backyard. We want to thank the Athens Conservancy Board Member Aimee Delach for the guided tour. However, we can't release too much information now, because we do not want to spoil the upcoming news article. Stay tuned!

As part of our positive behavior initiatives we are recognizing Lancer Leaders at Coolville Elementary. Lancer Leaders at Coolville are "students who consistently demonstrate character that is empathetic and go above and beyond our behavior expectations without prompting from an adult." Levi was recognized for demonstrating continual outstanding kindness to a friend. Way to be a role model for others Levi, we are proud of you!
It's Scholastic Book Fair time at Coolville Elementary! The book fair will be open during school hours on 11/4, 11/6, 11/7, 11/8 and evening hours (4:00-7:00 pm) during parent/teacher conferences on 11/4 and 11/7. Reminder of Parent Teacher Conferences at the Middle and High School tonight on the district calendar. 3:30-6:45 p.m.
5th grade Band at Coolville is off to a stellar start. We have a large group of students who are starting this new adventure. Thanks to Mr. Hartwick for instilling a love of music in our students. We want to give a special shout out to Mrs. Lackey at the Federal Valley Resource Center for making this opportunity more accessible by allowing students to borrow instruments.
Thank you to Sarah Keirns, a vet tech for rescue animals, for sharing your amazing creatures with some of our students today!
FHMS is pleased to announce that Mrs. Robin Baird will be joining us to teach 8th grade math. Mrs. Baird comes to us with over 25 years of experience teaching math to middle school and high school students. Please join me in welcoming her to our Federal Hocking Lancers Community.

The FH Journalism class interviewed AD Stephanie Evans about her experiences as well as her epic summer. Every student asked at least one question, and each student took notes. It was a great learning experience, and readers can await a polished article on the Lancer Local News site soon!
