Third graders at Amesville had a tea party to celebrate the end of our Classic Tales unit. We read The Wind in the Willows, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Aladdin and the Magic Lamp. We tried butterfly pea tea, a blue tea that turns purple with lemon. Students loved it!

It was an honor to serve on a panel about career connected learning. BB2C hosted The Summit at Marietta’s Washington State College and this experience provided more networking experience for our internship program as well as FH’s upcoming career day. Thank you, BB2C, for these meaningful experiences. -Ms. Ripple

Today, the high school Sources of Strength peer leaders completed their refresher training and worked on planning this school year's campaigns. Sources of Strength moves beyond a singular focus on risk factors by utilizing an upstream approach for youth suicide prevention. This upstream model strengthens multiple sources of support, or protective factors, for young people so that when times get hard, they have strengths to rely on. The peer leaders worked very hard today and are excited to share upcoming events soon!

The Athens County Public Library staff helped kickstart the Federal Hocking High School Readers' Workshop class. Students were able to tour the library, learn about all the services and resources offered, and gain a helpful tutorial on how to select novels. This is a wonderful asset, and the ACPL bookmobile will make bi-monthly visits to the FH campus so we can always have choice novels in the future. We are so grateful. - Ms. Ripple
